Nintendo Launches Summer with Colorful Joy-Con Controllers
If you’re in need of a way to brighten up your Switch or require an additional controller set for a fun Mario Kart game, Nintendo has got you covered. The corporation is launching Joy-Con controllers in two delightful pastel color schemes, purple/green and pink/yellow, on June 30th. These controllers will be sold for the same price as other hues, $80, and will provide the same motion control and “HD rumble” features as the previous models.
Additional controllers are necessary for local multiplayer games such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Ultimate. However, the Joy-Con combo is especially useful for any game that has motion controls (like Arms) or four-player multiplayer (like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe). It’s often a good idea to get Joy-Cons in different colors so there’s no confusion about which units you own.
This doesn’t account for the possibility of Joy-Con drift, and you may want to use the Pro controller if you want a more traditional game controller. There are also good third-party options. However, this adds some welcome variety. You can now choose from six color pairs, most of which weren’t available when the Switch launched. It’s just a matter of whether you’re willing to invest more in the Switch six years after its debut.
